The Purchasing Agent is responsible for obtaining the highest quality, lowest cost products to support the manufacturing of Thompson Manufacturing (Rock Exotica) products.
They maintain supplier relationships, while continually working to mitigate risk related to product supply, delivery, and inventory management.
They are responsible for ensuring the correct raw materials and quantities are on hand to meet the production schedule at all times.
They work with in collaboration with leaders from all departments to ensure the company is meeting customer order delivery expectations.
The Purchasing Agent compiles and maintains records of business transactions and inventory activities of the organization and assists with maintenance and monitoring of the company's ERP system.

years experience in manufacturing purchasing experience Understanding of metals and alloys Excel, with ability to create pivot tables and formulas Knowledge of and experience with ERP, preferably Macola Familiarity of common purchasing knowledge Experience assisting with forecasting and planning Soft Skills Excellent communication and presentation skills; both written and verbal Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast paced environment Sense of urgency and ability to drive projects to completion Strong interpersonal skills that contribute to motivated, team-oriented environments Ability to quickly reach independent decisions and demonstrate solid judgment on escalations Job Type:
